Gaiety Tour January 2025

Explore the rich history behind The Gaiety, one of Scotland’s oldest venues, and enjoy an exclusive behind-the-scenes guided tour of your theatre.

All tours open with an exhibition in The Studio of Gaiety heritage items – and a chance to step back in time with some music from Johnny Beattie’s Gaiety Whirl era! This is followed by a tour of each of the public areas of The Gaiety – with an insight into the unique history of your local theatre. You’ll then be taken behind the scenes for an exclusive look backstage, in the dressing rooms – and your opportunity to tread the boards!

The tour closes with a viewing of our Gaiety Whirl film, refreshments, and a Q&A with our knowledgeable guides.
And you can now get more in-depth as each tour is themed to a specific department – featuring insider insights from our crew!

Costume Tour – in association with Frankly my Dear… – Sunday 19th January, 2.30pm

An insight into the costumes from our 2024 panto “Mother Goose” including a backstage tour with costumes on stage, in a dressing room and a set up in the Gaiety Studio. We will also have a pop-up shop from Frankly my Dear Lingerie, showcasing their “Show girl Collection” of brooches, jewellery and bags.
