Following the profound impact of the VE Day 80th anniversary, the Field of Heroes returns to Ayr. From 1st – 13th July, Wellington Square will host 130 striking military silhouettes by Standing with Giants—the acclaimed artists behind the landmark displays in Normandy and Portsmouth.
This immersive installation commemorates the 110th Anniversary of the Battle of the Somme, offering a space for reflection, education, and remembrance.
Each silhouette features a QR code, inviting you to watch moving tributes and personal stories of the South Ayrshire soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice during the Great War.
Walk among the giants and learn from experts from the Commonwealth War Graves Commission and local historians.
Opening Commemorations: 1st July at 07:30 and 14:00
