Explore the rich history behind The Gaiety, one of Scotland’s oldest venues, and enjoy an exclusive behind-the-scenes guided tour of your theatre.

All tours open with an exhibition in The Studio of Gaiety heritage items – and a chance to step back in time with some music from Johnny Beattie’s Gaiety Whirl era! This is followed by a tour of each of the public areas of The Gaiety – with an insight into the unique history of your local theatre. You’ll then be taken behind the scenes for an exclusive look backstage, in the dressing rooms – and your opportunity to tread the boards!

The tour closes with a viewing of our Gaiety Whirl film, refreshments, and a Q&A with our knowledgeable guides.

An insight into the history of the Gaiety with a talk from Nick Wakeham – Director, Actor, wardrobe supervisor, voice artist and radio presenter. Writer of the radio play “Five go to Glasgow” which was performed by Ayr Fort Players in association with Gaiety on Tour.
