Ayr Show Parking

Ayr Show Parking

TOWED CARS: It’s extremely important that you do not park in any restricted area. Vehicles left in restricted areas may be towed, and the owner will be required to pay a £200 fine to retrieve it.

You can find out how to retrieve your vehicle here (www.south-ayrshire.gov.uk/car-towed)

South Ayrshire Council has announced a range of parking options and important information for drivers ahead of next month’s International Airshow – Festival of Flight.

The 2024 airshow is fast approaching, so now is the time to plan ahead and book your parking space for the biggest event in South Ayrshire this year!

We know the demand for parking was high for the 2023 festival, so this year we’ve added an additional car park for Saturday 7 September.

We’ve also increased the number of free toilets at the carparks, so no one gets caught short.  Plus, there will be more lighting towers to make it easier to navigate your way back to your car when the event is over.

Book Your Parking

You may still be able to book your online parking on the day but we can’t guarantee this. If available, these spaces will be charged at a higher rate of £5 extra on top of the book in advance price and will be payable at the carpark.

This year, parking will be available at:

Ayr Racecourse - park, walk and ride

Shuttle buses will be provided, but people who prefer to walk can do so.

Seafield - park and walk

This is the closest carpark to the festival.

Rozelle Estate- park, ride and walk (open Saturday 7 September only)

Shuttle buses will be provided, but people who prefer to walk can do so.

Blackburn Drive (Blue badge holders only)

You don’t need to pre-book these spaces, but they are limited and will be available on a first come, first served basis.  More information about accessibility at the airshow is available on our Ayr Show Accessiblity page.

Parking on the day / parking restrictions

We’ve extended the deadline for pre-booking parking ahead of the airshow. You can now pre-book until the car park opening times on the day:

  • Bookings for car parking on Friday 6 September can now be made up until 2pm on the day
  • Bookings for car parking on Saturday 7 September can now be made up until 10am on the day

Remember you can still book online after these times, but you won’t get our early bird price!

If available, these spaces will be charged at a higher rate of £5 extra on top of the book in advance price and will be payable at the carpark.

This applies to all car parks and both event days.

It’s extremely important that you do not park in any restricted area. Vehicles left in restricted areas may be towed, and the owner will be required to pay a £200 fine to retrieve it.

Residential areas that are covered by the TTRO will be closed to the public who are visiting for the festival.  We will have check points in place to ensure that residents can gain access to their homes and will provide letters with further information to all residents who are affected by the TTRO.

Information about parking and traffic restrictions on the weekend of the airshow is available at destinationsouthayrshire.co.uk/ayrshow/parking-faqs

Park and Ride

For those of you who choose one of our park and ride options, our shuttle buses, provided by Stagecoach.

Stagecoach will provide a park and ride shuttle service from Ayr Racecourse and Rozelle Park during the festival, dropping off even closer to the action this year.

Ayr Racecourse

The bus will leave every 4 minutes on Friday and every 3 minutes on Saturday, picking up from Craigie Park, Craigie Road, and Ayr Esplanade and dropping off at Craigie Park, Craigie Road, and Charlotte Street, Ayr.

Rozelle Park

The bus will leave every 3 minutes, picking up from the bus stop outside the entrance to Rozelle Park on Monument Road and Racecourse View and dropping off at the bus stop outside the entrance to Rozelle Park on Monument Road and Seafield Crescent, Ayr.

The shuttle service will operate every 3-4 minutes between the following dates and times.

Shuttle times

  • Friday 6th September 2.32pm – 10.30pm
  • Saturday 7th September  10.30am – 9.30pm

Car Park Entry and exit

To make carpark access easier, entry will be streamlined with ANPR cameras (automatic number plate recognition), so your number plate will be automatically checked when you arrive at the carpark.  This means that you’ll be asked to provide the registration plate number of the vehicle you intend to bring on the day when you pre-book your parking.

Tracsis will have exit plans in place for each car park to ensure you can leave as quickly as possible.  However, as with all events of this scale, it is inevitable that there will be some delays, so please factor this into your journey time to and from the festival.

Cancellation Policy

In booking a ticket, you are reserving a car park space. Reservations and tickets bought for this event are final. Once purchase is made, bookings cannot be cancelled, refunded, or exchanged under any circumstances.

In the unlikely event of a change in date, time, or venue, your ticket will remain valid for the rescheduled event. We will notify you of any changes as soon as possible.

When booking, you will be asked to provide your vehicle registration number.  This is because the car parks operate automatic vehicle number plate recognition which improves the flow of traffic into the car parks.  Bookings are non-transferable. You will receive a confirmation email when your booking is complete.
