Dunure beach is mainly rock and shingle, but the rocks are perfect for climbing, exploring and studying rock pools. If you walk up to the castle, you can enjoy Dunure Labyrinth on the other side, a picnic, barbeque, or just let kids play in the park.
Dunure has a lovely little harbour, overlooked by a historic ruined castle, which clings to the cliff above. The village is an old fishing village, where charming cottages surround the harbour area, but which is now used only by pleasure craft.
