800 Years of History – A Walk Around the Auld Kirk

800 Years of History – A Walk Around the Auld Kirk

Join Ken Nairn for a specially designed walk that’s perfect for all, even those a little “shoogly on foot”! On this walk Ken will lead the group to explore ‘800 Years of History – A Walk Around the Auld Kirk’ in a small plot of land that holds centuries of Ayr’s dramatic past. Prepare for a breathtaking journey through:

  • The gory Friars Blessing of Ayr
  • The legendary William Wallace
  • The chilling 17th-century Witch Trials
  • The disastrous Darian Advenure, backed by the town’s Provost
  • And a facinating look at how four of America’s five founding fathers connect to Ayr, alongside the impactufl (and sometimes contentious) lives fo Welch & Adair ministers who dared to challenge Kings.

This promises to be an unforgettable evening of history and intrigue!

Free event. No need to book, turn up at the Lynch Gate at the entrance to the Kirk.
