Closing Reception of the UNBEKENT Artist in Residency Project

You are warmly invited to the Closing Reception of the UNBEKENT Artist in Residency Project!

After six weeks of exploration, collaboration, and creative exchange, we invite you to celebrate the culmination of this exciting project with Narture. The residency has provided a unique opportunity for artists to engage with the space at MAKE and the local community, delving into themes of transformation, process, and the unknown.

UNBEKENT has been a journey into the mysterious and uncharted—exploring how new ideas take shape when artists step out of their comfort zones, collaborate in unexpected ways, and respond to the space and people around them. The artists have delved deeply into Ayrshire’s rich history, reimagining it through a contemporary creative lens—blending past narratives with innovative perspectives to spark new conversations and connections. The works created during the residency reflect the organic nature of artistic creation—unpredictable, evolving, and always in flux.

On Saturday 22nd February, drop by for a relaxed evening of drinks, snacks, and conversation. Take the opportunity to see the work produced during the residency, engage with the artists, and celebrate the creative spirit of this six-week journey.

Whether you’re a long-time supporter of Narture or new to our community, this is a chance to connect, reflect, and share in the excitement of what has been achieved.

A Double-Billed Day!

Following the UNBEKENT residency closing reception, Narture will also host a free gig next door at SHAPE (32 Newmarket Street).

Join us for Al Fleming’s Tell Tales, featuring strikingly original and evocative songwriting, inspired by Scotland and woven into a rich folk/Americana tapestry, with subtle jazz influences.

This is musical storytelling at its finest—a must-see! The gig is free but ticketed, so be sure to grab your tickets for both events. Come along to celebrate the end of this fantastic project and enjoy some live music afterwards!

We can’t wait to share this special moment with you!
