RAeS: Maintaining Legacy with the Red Arrows

RAeS: Maintaining Legacy with the Red Arrows

The Royal Aeronautical Society Prestwick Branch invites members and non-members to hear Wing Commander Andy King, a serving RAF Engineering Officer, present a lecture on how the Red Arrows are operated and supported behind the scenes.

The Red Arrows is one of the world’s premier aerobatic display teams. Flying distinctive BAE Systems Hawk fast-jets, the team is made up of pilots, engineers and essential support staff with frontline, operational experience. The BAE Systems Hawk flown by the Red Arrows is a British single-engine, jet-powered advanced trainer aircraft which entered RAF service in 1976. Production of the aircraft ceased in 2020.

Wing Commander King will discuss maintaining legacy aircraft to greater than 95% availability, continued global agility, and their world-first sustainable fuels transition, showcased at Prestwick in 2025.

Registration is from 6pm, with the lecture beginning at 7pm. Event finish 8.30pm.

Pre-registration is not required. Free entry for students and apprentices.

For non-members, cost is £5, payable on entry. Visitors or non-members wishing to join the lecture are asked to please contact [email protected]
