This biennial exhibition at The McKechnie Institute in Girvan offers the opportunity for emerging and established artists and craft makers living in South Ayrshire to showcase new and unseen work. There is no theme for the open exhibition and to submit work is FREE*.
We require artists to provide registration details by 5pm on Monday 12th October 2026.
Exhibition run dates: Tuesday 3rd November 2026 – Saturday 16 Jan 2027
We welcome submissions in all areas of visual arts and contemporary crafts, including but not limited to painting, printmaking, fine-art photography, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, text & book making, textiles and weaving, woodwork, metal work, jewellery, glass, film & audio (on shared tv showreel). The exhibition aims to celebrate a wide spectrum of local practices and disciplines.
You are invited to submit up to THREE works for consideration. We may not be able to select all works for display depending on volume of submissions. The gallery retains the right to reject work for this open exhibition.
There is no fee to submit works and artists are encouraged to show works that are for sale to the visiting public. The gallery will take 20% commission on all sales made during the exhibition period. Please add this to the prices of work when submitting. Works do not need to be for sale for inclusion in the exhibition, however we may priorities works that are for sale when selecting work.
Registration Deadline: Monday 12th October 2026, 5pm.
Selection Notification: We will email to confirm registration and acceptance for pre-selection, no later than Thursday 15th October.
Saturday 17th October 10.30am – 3.30pm and Tuesday 20th October 1pm – 3pm
