While driving home at night with his pregnant wife and young daughter, Eghbal runs over a dog, leaving his car stranded. At a nearby garage, mechanic Vahid becomes convinced that Eghbal is one of the men who tortured him during his imprisonment by the Iranian authorities. As word spreads among a group of former political prisoners, they are forced to confront a difficult moral dilemma: should they take revenge on a man they believe to be their tormentor, or accept the possibility that he may be innocent?

Winner of the Palme d’Or at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival.
