Get to know the local tree species and learn how to identify them. There is so much we can learn from trees so start your journey here!
This event is part of a series encouraging families to connect with nature across South Ayrshire.
Where should we meet?
Meet inside Carnegie Library at the back section where the sustainability hub is. We will wait for a maximum of 5 minutes for latecomers, after which we will leave the library to travel to the activity area.
Who is the event open to?
This event is open to all ages, and under 18s must be accompanied by a guardian at all times.
What do I need to bring?
Nothing! All equipment will be provided and you will leave with some sheets to help you with tree id
What should I wear?
Please check the weather; we will be outside and walking from Carnegie Library to Aulk Kirk of Ayr (5 minutes), so please wear appropriate clothing and footwear.
Who is delivering this workshop?
Aimée Moretti. I am a Senior Project Officer with The Conservation Volunteers where I deliver Citizen Science sessions across Scotland. Citizen science is the collection or analysis of scientific data by members of the general public. It’s all about discovering wildlife, exploring habitats, and finding out more about the data you can collect to protect biodiversity.
If you know you won’t make it please let me know ASAP. Unfortunately with free events people feel less committed to attend and often don’t inform hosts that they won’t attend. It’s a shame when this happens as other interested folk may miss out on booking a space.
