WinterStorm was born in Troon, Scotland in 2016. Since then, it has continued to prosper through some highly challenging times. The 2023 event notably sold more than 3000 tickets over the four days, showcasing its enduring appeal.

The festival consistently attracts impressive bands and artistes, punching above its weight in terms of talent. This success is attributed to the unique atmosphere that both the venue and its audience create.

Commitment to offering the best experience drives WinterStorm’s ethos. The venue, an old-school concert hall, ensures bands are consistently impressed with the sound quality and level of service provided.

WinterStorm’s reputation has flourished largely through positive word of mouth from bands and management. This support has helped attract a growing number of performers year after year. The festival’s atmosphere has drawn comparisons to the legendary sound and vibe of the old Glasgow Apollo, a compliment the organizers hold with pride.

The WinterStorm alumni list is illustrious, featuring iconic bands and individual heroes spanning various genres. From Heavy Metal legends like Michael Schenker Group and Skid Row to European talents like H.E.A.T and Eclipse, the festival’s lineup is diverse and impressive.

As WinterStorm enters its seventh year, it boasts a lineup of over 250 bands. This success is a testament to the support of both performers and audiences who resonate with the festival’s ethos.

The 2024 event will span four days, including the Rock Weekender and the traditional After the ‘Storm Sunday. The venue remains the Troon Concert Hall, promising the usual eclectic mix of music genres, from NWOBHM to Blues, Prog, AOR, and even a touch of hair metal.
