Formed in 1899 and originally located a mile or so to the north, Prestwick St. Cuthbert Golf Club moved to our existing course in 1963 to make way for the development of Prestwick Airport. Our parkland course was designed by J.R. Stutt and offers a challenging layout that will test golfers of all skill levels.
The story of Prestwick St Cuthbert is nothing short of remarkable. From its auspicious opening with an exhibition match between golfing legends John Panton, Eric Brown, Dai Rees, and Peter Alliss, to its current status as one of the most popular parkland courses in Scotland, this course has truly come of age.
Over the years, Prestwick St Cuthbert has undergone a stunning transformation. Thousands of trees have been planted, many of which have reached maturity and now provide a beautiful, verdant backdrop to the course. With clever mounding and design touches, the course has acquired an attractive character that is both challenging and enjoyable for golfers of all levels.
Today, Prestwick St Cuthbert boasts an enviable reputation as a fabulous mature parkland course with picturesque fairways, a challenging layout, and excellent greens. It’s no wonder that we’ve become a popular venue for county and regional championships, as well as a top choice for golfing enthusiasts visiting Scotland.
In 2017, we were honoured and delighted to be chosen by Scottish Golf to co-host the Scottish Amateur Championships, alongside Prestwick Golf Club. The event was a roaring success and showcased our course to the world, cementing our reputation as one of the best courses in Scotland.
But our story is far from over. We continue to invest in our course, facilities, and community to ensure that Prestwick St Cuthbert remains a beacon of excellence for years to come.
