Knockcushan Gardens & Aviary

Located behind the Town House Tourist Information across from the harbour, tranquil Knockcushan Gardens & Aviary is an oasis of calm and history. The Gardens contain the old ‘Hill of Justice’ stone and a plaque records that King Robert the Bruce, Earl of Carrick, held a court here in 1328.

With beautiful rose beds, plant displays and plenty of seating, it’s the ideal spot to enjoy sunny days and relaxation time.

The much loved aviary is home to many species of birds, including  Lady Amherst and Golden Pheasants; Cut-Throat, Zebra and Society Finches; Cockatiels and Budgerigars.

Knockcushan Gardens has a Green Flag Award, which recognises well managed parks and green spaces.
