South Ayrshire is well served by great transport links by rail, road, sea and air, giving visitors lots of choice about how to get here and how to get around.

FREE PARKING

From Sunday 19 November enjoy all day, unlimited free on street parking in and around Ayr town centre and in Council car parks. This free parking will be available every day until Monday 8 January 2024.

Rail

With stations in all the area’s main towns rail is an easy option to find your way to South Ayrshire. Please check the Scotrail website for up-to-date travel information or call 0344 811 0141.

Bus

Buses are another good transport option and the area is well connected by a regular service which also links to Glasgow and Kilmarnock. Details on travelling to and around South Ayrshire can be found on the Traveline website.

Car

If you’re thinking of taking the car, South Ayrshire is easy to get to, with the area well served by major trunk roads. The M77/A77 runs from Glasgow to Stranraer, while the A76 connects from Dumfries in the south.
