Straiton is a picturesque village situated in the heart of the Galloway Hills, near the River Girvan. The Monument and Bennan Circuit: This trail is approximately 7 km (4.5 miles) long and takes visitors through the countryside surrounding the village of Straiton. It offers stunning views of the Ayrshire hills and features a climb up to the monument dedicated to Sir William Wallace. The trail is well marked and suitable for people of all ages and abilities. 

Lady Hunter Blair’s Walk: This trail is approximately 4 km (2.5 miles) long and takes visitors through the grounds of the former Castle of Knockdon, which was owned by the Hunter Blair family. The trail offers views of the castle ruins, the River Girvan, and the surrounding countryside. The trail is well maintained and suitable for people of all ages and abilities. 

Straiton Village Ramble: This trail is approximately 2 km (1.25 miles) long and takes visitors on a leisurely walk through the village of Straiton. The trail offers views of the historic buildings and landmarks in the village, including the castle ruins and the old toll house. The trail is suitable for people of all ages and abilities. 

The Hill Wood Walk: This trail is approximately 5 km (3.25 miles) long and takes visitors through the woodlands surrounding the village of Straiton. The trail offers stunning views of the surrounding hills and features a climb up to the summit of Black Hill. The trail is well marked and suitable for people of all ages and abilities. 

The Church Walk: This trail is approximately 2 km (1.25 miles) long and takes visitors on a leisurely walk through the countryside surrounding the village of Straiton. The trail offers views of the River Girvan and the surrounding hills, and features a stop at the historic Kirkmichael church. The trail is well maintained and suitable for people of all ages and abilities.
