Dundonald Highland Games

Dundonald Highland Games

Dundonald Highland Games is one of Ayrshire’s premier cultural events. It is unique in capturing traditional Scottish heritage and strong community spirit within the picturesque setting of Dundonald Castle. The day starts at 12pm with a street procession through the village to the Playing Field, followed by the Opening Ceremony which includes the coronation of the Games Queen and the Chieftain’s address. Throughout the day, enjoy the Pipe Band and Drum Major contests, Solo Piping contests, Highland Dancing contests, heavies display, family games and tug o’ war. There is also a fantastic blend of commercial and charity stalls plus funfair rides for children, as well as food and drink outlets. The day ends with the Massed Pipe Bands Parade through the village.
