Grab the chance to see glorious Bargany

The privately owned Bargany Estate – sitting between Dailly and Old Dailly – opens its beautiful gardens to the public each year for the month of May, between 10am – 5pm. A real hidden gem, Bargany’s 50 acres of woodland is a must-visit to experience its full springtime glory. There’s a small charge per adult, but under 16s go free.

Overlooking the Ailsa Craig, the Bargany farm and estate is the much loved home of the Dalrymple-Hamilton family who have been its trusted custodians for over 40 years.

Take time to explore these magnificent grounds which include the postcard-perfect boat pond with lily pads, a truly stunning display of rhododendrons and cherry blossoms, a walled garden, rock garden and several pagodas.

Adult entry to Bargany Gardens costs just £3 and can be paid in advance online at Bargany Farms or at the time of visiting using a QR code. There are also Honesty Boxes for cash payments. Parking is limited and available on a first come, first served basis, but visitors can check ahead to see how busy the gardens are on a particular day by calling 01465 871249.

It’s easy to spend hours exploring this truly marvellous estate, though it’s worth noting there are no toilet facilities or café, so pack a picnic or pop into nearby Girvan afterwards for coffee and cake or even some fish and chips!
