Colmonell is situated circa 3 miles inland along the tranquil Stinchar River Valley.
As a community, it has an extended history in part due to the presence of the beautiful St Coman parish church with its unique stained glass windows by Louis Davis, and renowned organ.
Today the effective centre of the village is the community hall with its many activities.
It is positioned adjacent to section 9 of the Whithorn Way the lane to the riverside and opposite the modern play area.
Community garden and recently renovated and reopened community-owned toilets, serving visitors on the Coig tourist route and to the Biosphere.
The village has an excellent primary school a very proactive bowling club and is served by 2 bus routes.
