The Electric Brae Gallery is presenting an exhibition at the Cutty Sark Centre from 16 January until 14 February 2025 titled ‘Robert Burns in Poetry’.

Artists are invited to exhibit work with the inspiration taken for one of Robert Burns` poems.

How to take part:

Conditions:

  • Only original work can be submitted – any media considered
  • Artwork must be presented ready for display and sale. 2D, ideally framed, must be corded with D-clips.
  • Identification should be attached to the back- including your name & title of work, (contact details & retail price – which will not be displayed)
  • Please indicate which poem the work is based on
  • A small piece of script should be included on application form, which will be displayed beside artwork, allowing visitors to understand your thoughts / inspiration for the work. Max 30 words

Availability:

Opening Thursday 16 January, 5pm – 7pm

Open Thursday to Sunday, 12.30pm – 4pm (or outwith by prior arrangement)

An overview of art works will be shown online (please advise if you do not wish to be included). Please feel free to share!

Delivery of artwork to the Cutty Sark Centre, Ayr on Tuesday 14 and Wednesday 15 January, 12 noon – 4pm or with prior arrangement at other times: [email protected]

Any works submitted after this date may be subject to extra administrative fee & cannot be guaranteed to have details included in the catalogue

Collection:

Collection of work from the Cutty Sark will be on Thursday 13 and Friday 14 February, 12 noon – 4pm

Any works not uplifted, cannot be safely stored & will be subject to a storage charge of £5 per week

It is the artists responsibly to insure works during the exhibition

  • Administrative costs and hanging fee £10 per work
  • Maximum of 3 works per exhibitor
  • Sales will be made via the Electric Brae Gallery
  • 10% charge for admin
  • Prices will be available on a price list but will not be displayed next to individual work
