Inspired by extraordinary true events, El 47 tells the story of Vitaliano, a bus driver in 1970s Barcelona who refuses to accept the neglect faced by the working-class residents of Torre Baró. Frustrated by official claims that public transport cannot navigate the neighbourhood’s steep and winding streets, Vitaliano takes matters into his own hands by commandeering his own bus, route number 47, to prove otherwise.
Directed by Marcel Barrena, this uplifting and deeply human drama celebrates the power of collective action and the determination of ordinary people to create change.
