Tarbolton

About Tarbolton

Tarbolton is an inland Ayrshire village, with its history rooted in agriculture. It’s best known for its strong connections to Robert Burns – in 1780 he set up the Bachelor’s Club here, a debating society held at a cottage on Sandgate Street. It’s now a museum, run by the National Trust for Scotland.

Connections to Ayrshire farming are obvious everywhere, and if you’re green-fingered too, you’ll find Hayes Garden World on road into Tarbolton: it’s a great stop for shopping, a bite to eat, or for some home baking in its very popular restaurant.
