A host of iconic aircraft will take to the skies during the main event on 6th and 7th September with aviation displays to delight every generation.
Set against the breathtaking backdrop of South Ayrshire’s coastline, this aerial extravaganza will be like nothing you’ve seen before and will feature world-class military and civilian aviation displays.

The Falcons are the UK’s premier military parachute display team – the only centrally funded, professional, display team of this kind in the UK.
Based at RAF Brize Norton, Oxfordshire, the team display at venues all over Britain and Europe throughout the year. The team have set records and introduced many exciting innovations into formation skydiving.
Get set to witness their exciting free fall display, which includes advanced manoeuvres, falling at speeds of up to 120mph! Not to mention their famous ‘hybrid’ display, which includes the Heart and Crisscross Carousel, something really special that always manages to captivate spectators.

South Ayrshire Council is thrilled to announce that three aircraft from The Navy Wings Collection have joined the line-up for next month’s International Airshow – Festival of Flight.
First, is the Stinson Reliant, a high winged monoplane “gull wing”, with seating for up to four passengers.
Next is the Westland Wasp XT435, which entered service with the Royal Navy in 1965, and operated with 829 Naval Air Squadron, with part of her RN service being on the frigate HMS Achilles.
Last, but by no means least, is the Harvard G-NWHF, the latest aircraft to join the Navy Wings team. This aircraft was primarily used to train pilots during the Second World War.
Jet Pitts confirmed as STEM display for 2024 airshow!
Richard Goodwin and his Jet Pitts aerobatic display aircraft will appear at the International Ayr Show – Festival of Flight on Friday 6 and Saturday 7 September.
Watch out for when Richard pulls the propeller powered biplane up into a vertical hold and the two jet engines keep the aircraft from falling to the ground! When this happens, the whole aircraft will keep spinning in the air due to the still rotating propeller.
South Ayrshire Council can confirm that the Royal Navy Black Cats display team has been added to the display line-up for the 2024 International Ayr Show – Festival of Flight.
The Black Cats are an exciting helicopter display team that thrill airshow audiences with their dynamic flying displays in Wildcat helicopters.
The team started out in 2001 as the ‘Lynx Pair’ and were the first official Royal Navy flying display team since the ‘Sharks’ disbanded in the mid-1990s.
The name ‘Black Cats’ originates from the fierce cat depicted on the now disbanded 702 Naval Air Squadron emblem and the term ‘blackcatting’, which is naval slang for one-upmanship.
The helicopters will be piloted by Lt Michael Vivian and Lt Scott Sunderland, who will take to the skies to perform some hair-raising manoeuvres that showcase these amazing aircraft.
Taking to the skies this year will be the Lancaster aircraft to commemorate all those who have lost their lives serving in the RAF, or its predecessor the Royal Flying Corps, in all conflicts from 1914 up to the present day.
Based at RAF Coningsby, Lincolnshire, the BBMF fleet of World War Two aircraft is preserved in flying condition as a living tribute to them, to promote the modern-day Air Force and to inspire future generations.
The Flight’s motto ‘Lest We Forget’ says it all.

South Ayrshire Council is delighted to announce that the Typhoon Display Team will return to this year’s International Ayr Show – Festival of Flight.
Last September, BlackJack’s electrifying display left the crowds awestruck with daring manoeuvres, at eyewatering speeds of up to 600 miles per hour and the thundering roar of its jet engines!
While aerial display times can only be confirmed closer to the event, you can be sure of more jaw-dropping displays from the team on Friday 6 and Saturday 7 September 2024!
