The charming resort of Troon is a great choice for a day at the beach of a relaxed seaside holiday. Royal Troon Golf Club has hosted many British Open Golf Championships, and the town is perfectly set up for visitors of all ages and nationalities.  

Troon has clean, sandy beaches with gorgeous views to Arran, Lady Isle and Ailsa Craig. The waters are safe for bathing, and they’re very popular for open water swimming, paddle boarding and surfing. You’ll see happy children playing in the shallows, and the esplanade is a great place to walk or cycle, with lots of free parking nearby. 

The busy, working harbour is home to curious seals and to Ayrshire’s fish market. It supplies locally caught fish and seafood to the shops and busy restaurants in Troon, and at Troon Yacht Haven, a fantastic place for yachting enthusiasts.
