Thomas Clark is a writer, poet and translator working mainly in the Scots language. His most recent and award winning book being a Scots translation of George Orwell’s Animal Farm, in ‘Fower Legs Guid, Twa Legs Better!’

It offers a fascinating journey through Orwell, Scots, and the language we use today asking if words still matter, if politicians can be trusted and if Scots still has a place in the modern world.

Part of the A Blether O Books: Scotland Through Literature collection.

The image shows a woman standing backstage area of a theater. She is leaning casually on a wooden structure, smiling and looking to the side. Surrounding her are ropes, pulleys, and wooden beams, indicating the area may be used for stage rigging or set movement. The walls are brick, somewhat worn, and industrial in appearance, illuminated by a bright overhead light. The setting gives the impression of a behind-the-scenes look at a theater's technical area.
